Oscars has gone ghetto.

The ratings have collapsed over recent years, you can expect that to continue…..

This is where Woke meets real world
In the old days insult someones wife you get a slap
But .. in this world you are allowed to say what you want because... That's your right
But .... In the real world you get a slap...
This is confusing

That would be The Telegraph Sven, not as good as the glory days under Conrad Black but the only paper left worth reading.

Sven,

Unlike the Torygraph, who always keep a leftie or two on hand, it's a very fucking long time since the Guardian allowed a dissenting opinion.

Sven Roeder 8:07 Tue Mar 29
Re: Will Smith vs Chris Rock
No , its a opinion piece by an identified person
Their opinion for people to read , dissect & consider
Published by the newspaper to provoke that consideration

You could say that Hermit 'published' it on here
Does that make it Hermit's opinion?

Re: Will Smith vs Chris Rock
I don't really have a favourite newspaper since the Independent (which DID publish a range of views & opinions) diminished and went on-line only.

What is your favourite newspaper, Hermit?

Sven Roeder 7:37 Tue Mar 29
Re: Will Smith vs Chris Rock
Just pointing out that newspapers often publish opinion pieces to present a range of views.
If they publish an editorial as such I think you can say THAT is the Guardians opinion. Or the editor at least. You seem to think every word published is the opinion of the newspapers editors or owners.

When the Independent was a proper newspaper they had columns by the likes of Dominic (son of Nigel) Lawson & the right winger Bruce Anderson. That must have been very confusing for you

Hermit Road 6:41 Tue Mar 29
Re: Will Smith vs Chris Rock
Sven, you either got me mixed up with someone who said it was an editorial or you pretended I said it so that you could pretend to put me straight on something to avoid the fact your favourite paper produced yet another piece worthy of wiping arses with.

Pretty sure that bloke is a parody.

A guy called Alex Stein started it all off during lockdown where he would appear on Zoom council meetings where he would act like Capitol They and see how ridiculous he could be whilst being taken seriously.

He's still doing it now, and is still being taken seriously which shows what a messed up world we currently live in.

Here's his channel:

Guardian a bit slow off the mark with blaming white people for all this but they got there in the end. Bit disappointed they were lagging so far behind many other news outlets in pointing the finger at white supremacy. Perhaps there's some institutionalised racism going on in the Guardian newsroom and they need to get the diversity trainers in so they can react a bit quicker than 24 hrs next time.
